History of Wrights

Our Story

Wrights began in 1964, founded by local tradesman Stewart Wright in Holbeach, Lincolnshire. Initially focusing on roofing and flooring, the business quickly became known for its reliability and built a strong reputation among local businesses.

In 1975, Wrights moved to a larger premises on Park Road, and as demand shifted in the early 1980s, the business transitioned into carpets—opening a showroom on Winsover Road, Spalding. Continued growth led to a move in 1983 to The Crescent, where the store remains today.

The roofing arm of the business was sold in 2000, and in 2003 Stewart sold the flooring business to long-time employees Trish Souter (his sister) and Joanne Holmes. Trish retired in 2011, and Joanne led the business until her retirement in 2020, when it was passed on to the Barton family.

The Bartons, with experience in flooring since 2015, are proud to continue the Wrights legacy. As a family-run business, we remain committed to delivering personalised service, honest advice, and top-quality flooring solutions—just as we always have.
